Ok so I am going to give this whole blogging thing a try!
So first thing first, Paul's and my story, because everyone asks and everyone wants to know...
So here I go!
I got engaged in 2003 to a someone who was not intended by God to be my husband. No I will not name names, however it was JUST NOT GOD'S PLAN!!!
Then ove ther process of me being engaged I saw someone. Yes SAW someone. No talking was involved... just knew it.
Back story, my fiance had asked my parents permission to marry me and the answer was SURE, not yes but SURE! (can you see where this is going yet?) So when he asked me in the COLD weather of winter in Oklahoma with all of his family, my response was SURE. I told my mom I was engaged and she said "Oh boy...." just like that!
Over the next few months things became very very uncomfortable between us and at one point God showed me just how he was not the person for me! LITERALLY SHOWED ME!
In the meantime while working at a Bennigans in Houston, Paul walked into my life. Although we had never spoken I called my mom and told her that my future husband walked through the door. She came up and observed and said I was right, although again I had never even said hello to him! We became friends (he started stalking me, another story all together) although at the time I was still engaged!
Again God beat me up a little and SHOWED me that the man who I was going to marry was not the person for me. Paul and I became best friends almost immediatley! It was like we had known each other our whole entire lives! So we went on being friends although I knew God put him in my life for a specific reason. He did not know that reason and did not want to date me at the time... I kept telling him I know something that you don't!
About 7 months later he asked me to be his grlfriend... about 6 months later he asked me to be his wife, and if you do not know I have a very sneaky husband!!! He took me to the OMNI hotel on Padre Island. I saw a table and told him it would look just like that at our wedding. He turned to me at the escalator (sp?) and he told me he was in no way shape or form ready to be tied down. Later that night we had dinner at the top of the hotel and I thought at this point it was going to be my last meal and I was wondering how I was going to explain to my father that he needed to drive from Houston to Padre Island to pick me up from being dumped... Paul had the pianist play You Look Wonderful Tonight and he danced with me. All the while I still believe he is going to dump me...
He told me to order whatever I wanted and at the time I did not know what the words MARKET PRICE meant. So I ordered the LOBSTER... $84.00 Lobster to be exact... Well a girl has to have a good meal if she is going to have to walk home... Then he waits until everyone leaves and said he wants to pull out my chair. And on one knee he goes... I really quickly asked what he was doing... and started to shake! He told me that he wanted me to pick out my ring and that his mom gave me her diamond out of her original wedding band. It was on a pendant and he could not get the words out before I could yelp yes!
I called my mom and was so hysterical she thought I said Paul was in an accident and died! LOL! Anywho, a little over a year we were married (05/06/2006) and will celebrate 3 years this May.
