So it has been a while since I have last posted anything, but it is a nice time for an update I think. Thanks Sarah for the idea! ;)
So this Thanksgiving I have so many things that I am thankfull for! Looking over the past year I am trying to make sence of all that I have done. This time last year my brother was deploying to Afghanistan or getting ready to for that matter, and we decided to have Thanksgiving in Houston. For those who know my family, Thanksgiving is to be spent with my family in Louisiana. ITS TRADITION. But we decided to stay home and cook. My dad was very ill this time last year and was hardly eating anything. I was just starting my new position as a Loan closer at the Bank that I am working at (which is my 5th move up in the company). I was serving as a 4 year old preschool teacher at Secnd Baptist and, Paul was thinking of starting his own business. MAN HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED IN THE PAST YEAR!!!
Since this time last year, My brother is returning from Afghanistan tomorrow after a very scarry year and many close calls on his tour. My dad is MUCH better purley by the grace of God, because he does not take the best care of himself. I have gone from 4 year olds to teenagers!!! LOL! Paul and I are working with the youth and are having a blast. We are so blessed to have these youth in our lives, and not only that but the other leaders. Kody and Corby have been a blessing from the start of our journey with Second Baptist. Heath and Sarah have helped Paul and I in many occassions, and have become like Big Brother and Sister while mine has been away. Kelly and Cammille are mom and pop! LISA LISA LISA!!!! Man that lady has had a year, but I have loved having her as an accountability partner and friend! Katie is one of the strongest people I know, and he has wo amazing little girls whom she loves with all of her heart! Oh and did I mention she is a pretty great hairstlist too!!! Rachael is amazing... through an accident where God's hand completley healed her and made her stronger in every aspect and the fact that she never said why me but saw the best (even if she was just being brave around other people). And there is Drew who can make anyone laugh!!! Kyle and Sam have blessed our hearts and make us thankful for friends who will tell us like it is always! Vic and Jan are an inspiration to everyone! Cody and Shauna have a blessing by adopting Reece this year and are being great new parents! Which brings me to Chad... He is the youth Pastor at Second Baptist Cypress that we Serve under. His passion is like no one I have seen! His love for God is inspiring and something to be admired (although I know he cannot take credit because it is the holy spirit working through him). I am just glad that he is learning his calling! These students are sooo blessed! My family away from my family!
Paul's mom is no living with us and makin strides at getting her life and family back. It is a good thing to see. Paul's job venture did not work out as planned but if I have learned anything this year it is that GOD PROVIDES! Paul has been through a couple of jobs but the one he has now is a blessing and a true miracle!
So I will end on a note that I am thanking everyone who reads this. If you were in my life in HS or before, you mean something to be by being a part of my life if only for a season. If you were in my life after HS I am blessed that you are a part of my life, wether I worked with you or wether I am serving with you now, you are a blessing and have shaped me to who I am now!
And for that this Thanksgiving is the best one yet!
